Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 also known professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Dreamville Records released her debut EP, Pho, in October 2016 where she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her songs online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014 she continued to share her music over the internet including her independently release single Bound. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to use it together with Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records.
